Beyond the Gallery
Academic Paper
DRS2026, Edinburgh, 2026
This paper presents the first sector-wide audit of neurodivergent digital accessibility across 43 Australian museums, finding that 35% offer no neurodivergent resources and 86% provide only minimal digital experiences. The research identifies systemic patterns in how shared infrastructure shapes access, and lays the groundwork for neurodivergent-led co-design in future phases of the PhD.
